“People need to be able to get lost in an idea once in a while that is not their own. Go down a different rabbit hole.”
Bryce Sun, the creative force behind The Rabbit Hole, talks about her latest projects and her quest to help breathe life back into Second Life’s Mainland by bringing interest back into what makes this metaverse so amazing.
Q: How long have you been in Second Life?
A: 10+years
Q: What brought you to Second Life?
A: A desire to RP something like D&D in a 3D environment.
Q: What inspired you to create The Rabbit Hole?
A: A conversation with one of my besties, Emm. She inspired me to share creative solutions with others who might enjoy them. Some people can’t see past what affects them. It’s part of what’s wrong with the world today in both SL and RL.
People need to be able to get lost in an idea once in a while that is not their own. Go down a different rabbit hole. So I have started a grid-wide project to help breathe life back into the mainland and help bring interest back into what makes this metaverse so amazing. I am building visitor’s centers in the heart of each mainland continent as well as locations that people can get lost in. Whimsy spaces to unwind and relax. Read, write, paint, imagine… enter the world of your mind and challenge how you see things.
Q: What’s your creative process like: Do you have everything all planned out or do you have a general idea and improvise along the way?
A: A little of both. I may have a general idea and try to organize a space and build it with some planning, otherwise it’s improvised as I go mostly.
Q: How long does it take you to create each version of your space?
A: It depends on time and resources – it can be a week, or a month.
Q: What are some of your favorite places to visit in SL?
A: Tempura Island, Hazard, Black Kite… and random others that I stumble upon
Q: What do you do in your spare time outside of SL?
A: Sleep, laugh with the tribe, watch movies, color, paint, sleep.
Q: What are some of your favorite nature-related places you’ve visited in real life?
A: The Beach, butterfly gardens and various camping locations.
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?
A: Turtle Cay, Bahamas, because I am a Pisces and it’s beautiful.
Now onto the fun stuff!
Q: Coffee or tea?
A: Yes
Q: Pancakes or waffles?
A: Yes
Q: Books or TV?
A: Yes
Q: If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
A: A raven/ magpie/crow… to fly and they are magical and smart.
